Associate Diploma in Banking at a graduation and awards ceremony held at the University of Botswana Conference Centre. The ceremony which was the last for BIBF’s legacy programmes celebrated cohorts from the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. The Institute could not hold its graduation ceremony in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our aim at BIBF, Ladies and Gentlemen, is to transition these graduands before us, and the many graduates before them, into professional, specialist training and other long-term educational development opportunities’’, the BIBF Council Chairperson and Botswana Savings Bank Chief Executive Officer Mr Nixon Marumoloa said when giving his remarks.

In his address, the guest speaker, Minister of Education and Skills Development Hon. Dr Douglas Letsholathebe gave a word of encouragement to the graduates. “Learning is a lifetime exercise. I want to urge all who are graduating today, to look out for the opportunities that BIBF will put before you and enroll to upskill yourselves in your varied areas of specialty”, he said. “I am advised that the new Diploma in Banking and Finance, that is replacing the programme for which we are graduating the last cohort today, is registered in the National Credit and Qualifications Framework and that it is one of the few diploma programmes eligible for government sponsorship through DTEF”, Hon Dr Letsholathebe continued.

The event also celebrated 56 award winners who received prizes sponsored by the local banks. When receiving his award in the presence of executives from the banks, the overall best student Gofenyaone Boago Lekoba shared how his dream to join the banking industry drove him to pursue the Associate Diploma in Banking and Finance programme.
Acting Managing Director, Mr Molaodi Menyatso, closed off the event by expressing gratitude to all who continue to support BIBF. He wished the graduates well and encouraged them to be ambassadors of the Institute.
